ROMAN GOLD RING WITH INTAGLIO DEPICTING A RIDER
Ca. AD 100 - 300 A Roman gold ring featuring a carnelian with round hoop D section and an hexagonal intaglio depicting a rider on the horse. The pale orange is beautifully contrasted by the lustrous gold, while the horse is shown in profile, displaying the four legs with the front right raised, a long mane and a thin tail.
