APULIAN GLAZED PIXYS WITH LID
Ca. 400 - 300 BC A Greek red-figure pyxis, cylindrical in shape with lid. Used mostly by women to hold cosmetics, jewellery, and other important items. The lid is decorated with flowers comprising nine triangular petals around a yellow pistil. For similar see: MET Museum Accession Number: 75.2.18a, b.
