ETRUSCO-CORINTHIAN OLPE WITH SCALES PATTERN - EX. MUSEUM
Ca. 600 - 580 BC An Etruscan-Corinthian Olpe with an enlarged rim, a truncated conical neck, a pear-shaped body, and a discoid foot. The lip, neck, and handle are painted black and purple. Scales are depicted on the cream-coloured body of the vase, and there are a series of concentric lines near the foot. The Olpe belongs to the so-called 'heavy style' of the 'Squamati' group of Ceretan production, datable between 600 and 580 BC. For similar see: Rasenna storia e civiltà degli etruschi, n. 486.
