OTTOMAN IRON CONICAL HELMET

Ca. AD 1450 - 1550 An Ottoman iron helmet in the classic conical form with a spiked finial. The polished surface is representative of the culture. A decorative and functional nose guard is inserted through a band riveted just above the defensive brim. The back has a number of holes, likely for the addition of further mail protection.
