BYZANTINE GLASS OIL LAMP

Ca. 5th - 10th century AD A green glass oil lamp with a conical shape. The lamp boasts a wide, gracefully curved upper rim and a narrowing base. It is presumed to have been initially part of a bronze fixture.

Provenance: Property of a North London gentleman; formerly in a European Collection, France, bought in Paris in the 1990s.
