CELTIC GOLD EARRINGS WITH SPIRALS
Ca. 500 - 400 BC A pair of Celtic, possibly British, 21 ct gold earrings, each comprised of a thick tapering wire that broadens to the finials. The wire-like hook rises from one end and curves back, tapering slightly to fit through the wearer's earlobe. The middle parts are embellished with two gold spirals to connect the thinner to the thicker parts. Earrings like these would have been worn by high-status women.
