EGYPTIAN FAIENCE WEDJAT-EYE AMULET

A faience amulet depicting a wadjet or wedjat, also known as an Eye of Horus, which was a symbol of protection. The eye components are glazed with blue-green. The pupil and eyebrow appear enhanced in a glossy black glaze. A narrow suspension hole is perforated lengthwise through the body once allowing it to be wrapped in the cloth of a mummy for protection in the afterlife.
