WESTERN ASIATIC TEMPLE FOUNDATION CONE

An ancient Sumerian temple foundation cone of clay with a flat base on the broadside and a rounded tip on the opposite side. The head is typically mushroom-shaped, the body inscribed with vertical lines of cuneiform script. The inscription in numerous columns originating from Gudea.
