MASSIVE ROMAN SILVER INTAGLLIO RING WITH ELEPHANT

A solid silver ring featuring a tapered band with ribbed features to the shoulders. The bezel is set with a carnelian intaglio engraved with an elephant. Normally elephants on Roman jewellery refer to Alexander the Great and his conquest of India.
