GREEK HELLENISTIC GOLD TWISTED EARRINGS WITH LION HEADS
Ca. 300-100 BC.
A matching pair of gold earrings, formed as loops of finely braided shanks expanding to a collared lion head finials on one end and tapering on the other. The lion's head is modelled from a thin sheet of gold and features naturalistically rendered facial and anatomical features.
