ANCIENT EGYPTIAN FAIENCE SONS OF HORUS
Late Dynastic Period, Ca. 664-332 BC. A fine set of three mould-formed faience amulets depicting Sons of Horus. Each is mummiform, shown in a profile, covered in lustrous blue glaze, and pierced for attachment to mummy wrappings. The 4 Sons of Horus, protectors of the organs of the deceased are the human-headed Imsety, the jackal-headed Duamutef, the baboon-headed Hapy, and the falcon-headed Qebhsenuef. Cf.
