LARGE ROMAN MARBLE FIGURE OF ASCLEPIUS
Ca. 200 AD. A magnificent marble figure of Asclepius, the god of Medicine, standing on an integral base. The figure is beautifully modelled clutching his mantle to his left, leaving the right shoulder and the muscular torso uncovered. Thick hair and beard. Entwined snake around his staff.
