GRECO-BAKTRIAN KINGDOM, Demetrios I Aniketos, c. 200-185 BCE, Æ trichalkon. 11.81g, 28mm.
Obv: Head of elephant right, wearing bell around neck.
Rev: ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΥ; Kerykeion (caduceus); monogram to inner left.

Demetrios, one of the most important Bactrian kings, was given the name “Invincible” (Aniketos) after his death due to his never having lost a battle. He conquered large regions in Afghanistan and Pakistan, and also invaded India.
