MOESIA INFERIOR, Nikopolis ad Istrum: Elagabalus (218-222), AE16. 2.7g, 16.2mm. Very rare, unpublished?
Obv: AVT K M AVP [ANTWNINOC?], draped (cuirassed?) bust right.
Rev: PROC ICTPON NIKOPOLITWN, Telesphoros, cowled and cloaked, standing facing.

Telesphoros, a dwarf, was originally a Celtic god who became associated with Askelpios in Anatolia after having been brought there by the Galatians in the 3rd c. BCE.
