Nikokreon of Cyprus submitted to Alexander early in the Persian conquest, and Plutarch mentions that he was singled out for his magnificent theatrical exhibitions when he paid homage to Alexander in Tyre. In the wars after Alexander's death, he allied with Ptolemy and was rewarded with control over Cyprus.
