England. Aethelred II. 978-1016. AR Half Penny (10mm, 0.88g). Long Cross type (BMC IVa, Hild. D). Uncertain mint; moneyer Æthelweard(?). Struck circa 997-1003. [+ÆÐELR]ED REX ΛNGLO, bareheaded draped bust left / [__]LPER DM’O[__], long cross voided with each limb terminating in three crescents. North 774. Near Extremely Fine.

If in fact the moneyer behind this coin was by Æthelweard and according to Jonsson and Van der Meer study in “Mints and Moneyers c. 973 - 1066” it could have been struck at one of the following mints: London or Stamford.
