England. Cnut the Great, 1016-1035. AR penny (17.5mm, 0.83g, 10h). Quatrefoil type (BMC viii, Hild. E), Norwich mint; moneyer Hwætman. Struck circa 1016-1023. +CNVT REX ANGLOR, crowned bust left within circle / +HP ΛTM ΛNO NOR, quatrefoil with pellet on each cusp, long voided cross with each limb terminating in three crescents, pellet in center. BEH - ; North 781; SCBI 66 (Norwegian Collections) 2283. Very Fine, peck marks.
