England. Cnut the Great, 1016-1035. AR penny (19mm, 1.00g, 10h). Quatrefoil type (BMC viii, Hild. E), London mint; moneyer Leofric. Struck circa 1016-1023. +CNVT REX ANGLORV, crowned bust left with fluttering cape behind within quatrefoil / +LIO FRIC ONL VND, quatrefoil with pellet on each cusp, long voided cross with each limb terminating in three crescents, pellet in center. BEH 2639 var; North 781. Very Fine.
