CIMMERIAN BOSPOROS. Pantikapaion. Circa 480-470 BC. Drachm (Silver, 20 mm, 5.73 g). Facing head of a lion. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square with windmill pattern. Frolova Type II. HGC 7, 26. MacDonald 1/2. SNG BM Black Sea -. SNG Stancomb -. Extremely rare in this large denomination. Slightly porous and with several flan cracks, otherwise, good very fine.
From the Pontos Euxeinos Collection, formed in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
