KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Stater (Gold, 18 mm, 8.65 g, 10 h), Pella, struck under Philip II or Alexander III, circa 340/36-328. Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠOY Charioteer driving biga to right, holding reins in his left hand and goad in his right; below the horses, thunderbolt. Le Rider 107 (D52/R83). A beautiful example of fine style. Minor nick on the obverse and with a few faint scratches, otherwise, good extremely fine.
